1994 Northridge Quake 6.7 - 8.1 -my Neighborhood!-my home

The Washington DC Earthquake brought back memories of the 1994 Northridge earthquake-(link to overview)
my family and I were in the middle of it--
in fact-because my home sat on the 'whip end' - we richetered - 8.1--
I screamed ( I never scream!) upon awakening - the house was shaking back and forth - the 'secured' doors (bolts into frame-top and bottom) - were thrown open--most of the chimneys in the neighborhood were crumbled-and we lived on stored food for a few days---
... one of the costliest natural disasters in U.S. history...
