HORSES-A Reprieve from the 'Stuff'

You all know how much I love HORSES--My last bred - a Trakehner/Welch Cob- from my wonderful Trak. mare - Sweet Charity - is hanging out in  my back yard- His registered name-Sir Benjamin-better known as Benjie--you would all love him--He makes me laugh when I get frustrated w/ the 'stuff' going on in my wonderful Republic--the USA--Someday I'll figure out how to post my own photos - then you can 'meet' him-
You may be interested in learning more about the Trakehner- and the 'Trek'-during the war - only a very few horses made it- most of them the hardy mares-thus-the curse- "may you have ill wind and a Trakehner mare--
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trakehner
as a side note- the Germans support their breeding farms with tax payer $$$- thus- it is difficult for breeders of Warmbloods in the US to compete with the Germans--because of the German State support---
WAR MOVES:

One of the finest rides of all time- understand  -Dressage means training- and the training was originally intended for WAR:

I will be executing a series of HORSE art pieces this year--that is a goal..!!!!
Like I said-someday you will "meet" Benjie -- until then- enjoy:

So are the Trakehnr and Welsh ponies smaller than the regular Prussian heavy calvary mounts?

I love horses ... used to ride a lot when I lived in CA. My friend back then had a quarter horse and an Arab. He always put me on the Arab because he didn't like the animal's gait ... Sure was a beautiful animal.

I added the above to my post--it is good to know that you love horses..
I believe the cavalry is the forerunner of the present day air force- the war formations are very similar--
