Thanks Carol for the link to TOTUS! I origially post that video at Political Incorrectness. Following 9/11 one seldom hears hymns such as these in many parts of the country!

One of my favorites. It makes me think of the Salvation Army, who
adopted it as their processional, or 'theme song'. For those of us
interested in old hymns, the tune
was written by Sir Arthur Seymor
Sullivan, whose range besides hymns included the Gilbert & Sullivan operettas. Very nice version you presented.

@Carol:

In reference to your comment on my blog:

I think your reference is to "Checkmate" my fictional novel taking shape on the Internet, as this article is reprinted from one done by a contributor to this blog.

Yes, I plan to complete this book by the end of winter and start publication efforts in the early spring.

Seriously, at this point I don't know exactly how it will all turn out. When I do the dialogue between the characters I have created they "say" things to one another I had not thought of beforehand...and the story flies off into a new direction.

I have a plan, but like they say in the military, "A plan goes up in smoke when the first shot is fired by the enemy."

Please feel free to comment on "Checkmate" - the protagonist I've named David Hunter is inspired by King David in the Bible, a deeply flawed Hebrew warrior/king who allowed his best general to be killed in order have his way with the man's wife.

Nevertheless, God loved David because he knew David loved him, and that his mighty sword was at the service of Israel.

Cheers, Ronbo
