When I rode competively-I rode the musical tests to Neil Diamond's music....
Somehow I lost track of him ---then - while searching for America- I found this one--I'm so glad...
Yes, Shoprat-he would sing America now...:-) He sang it at a festival in England 2008!

I never was a big fan but my uncle had tickets to a concert of Diamond's 6 years ago, over Christmas, at the Forum. He'd been given the tickets by Neil's masseuse, who was Diamond's first girlfriend since his divorce..we were in chairs ON the floor, about 20' from him.
I only went for Mr Z, who likes Diamond.....
Well, I was surprised how much I loved it. SO many songs reminded me of happy times! I really enjoyed the concert and he did MANY Christmas songs with such feeling, too!
Z-my guess is- yes--he is a Christian--
As I recall-one of his major song-writers was a member of Church On the Way... She was very strong in her faith---

Man of G-d is from 12 Songs released in 2005. He has since released a fantastic album, Home Before Dark...you should give it a listen.
