BEST Bicycle for Wounded Warrior Project-

From their site:Pedalin' With a Purpose:
In May 2005, Joel, Dan, and Pete graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, leaving New York after four years together to lead and serve our nation’s finest. Since then, they’ve finished a combined five combat tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Where will they go? Generally, they’ll face away from the Atlantic and pedal until they hit another ocean, but the following places should get in their way: Portland (Maine), Boston, Hartford, West Point, NYC, Philadelphia, Baltimore, D.C., Pittsburgh, Columbus, Cincinnati, Louisville, St. Louis, Kansas City, Denver, Salt Lake City, Boise, every town along the Pacific between San Francisco and Los Angeles, as well as many other places across America where they can find spare tires and running water...

To my California friends-if you have a place for these BEST to rest-let me know--
There is a California West Point Grad who is making the trip--his humorous write up cracked me up!!!
Dan Marques:

Dan was born and raised in Southern California where danhe was a mediocre athlete and student. It was during his early years where he developed a love for beach sports, running, hiking, extremely painful sunburns and the occasional bike ride. Knowing nothing about the military or the sacrifices it would require he decided to attend West Point to serve his country. After being screamed at for four years he graduated with a degree in Economics and was commissioned as a lieutenant in the Army. Despite his lackluster performance in college, Dan did his best to help out as much as possible in the war on terror. He spent most of 2006 in Iraq and 2008 in Afghanistan with the 101st Airborne Division as an intelligence officer, platoon leader and executive officer. In between wars, Dan climbed Mt. Whitney (sort of), hiked Yosemite, the Smoky Mountains and the Grand Canyon, among other places.

Today, you can find Dan fixing a flat tire on the side of the road during a triathlon, flying recklessly over the handlebars of his mountain bike, or enjoying a beer or two in Nashville, Tennessee. Dan continues to associate himself with the same group of guys that he met during his first few months of college. Dan is also the only member of the group to have successfully fooled a real woman into marrying him.

from C-CS-I'll be keeping track of these warriors who are giving to fellow warriors....
