ART-Do the Big $$$ "Collectors" Know How to Select Art on Their Own?
I have been questioning how the big $$$ "art" collectors select their art 'treasures'--Do they really choose what they find appealing or do they 'trust' a typical "I'm a professional and I know what is best for you!" dealer---

GUNS=Peace & Stability-Dutch Miltiary Leader
My DAD-(DUTCH -Irish) 4 years in the Pacific-WW II -taught us kids how to SHOOT--
He took us to the gravel pits w/ his own targets-
One pit -we had to cross a small river- SO- he threw empty cans into the river (the days BEFORE PC-greeeeeeeen)- - and taught us how to shoot at a moving target and HIT IT!!!
Didn't appreciate my DAD as much then as I do now--- :- (
and - getting to appreciate my Dutch/ Irish DNA as much as my Danish DNA----
Remind me to tell you about my Irish Grandfather who had tears when he 'met' my first horse-seems his family bred some of the finest horsed in Canada-I did not know that !!!til I was in my 20s!!! (I had to wait til then-no extra $$$ for horses when I was younger) No wonder I LOVE HORSES-that - too- is in my DNA code!
My family was very 'close to the vest' ...and did not tell much about their achievements...no bragging-you know!'

He stated to my son's Sunday School class (son was 8 at the time) that there were no animals in heaven - son cried-when he came home and told me:
"Mom-pastor says Daphne will not go to heaven."
"Oh-really!!" I said - " He and I will have talk!"
My comment to the 'good' pastor-
"IF HEAVEN is a better Place-it will have dogs-horses-cats-and all other animals!"
"If it does not-I do not want to go there!!!"

The first has been in my computer files for 4+ years- IT is about the arts being taken out of our schools and the ADD-(hyperactive) children who need the arts - being given drugs instead--

I have all of the illustrations and text for my personal book-_Random Thoughts of Carol_--they have been sitting-waiting for 2 years!!

Refreshing-My House/Bill Whittle and Freedom 'Talk'
I understand that the computer needs to be refreshed occasionally-
Took some time off to 'refresh' (new paint-appliances etc) my kitchen...
Kind of nice not knowing tooooo much of what has been going on in the world--
Guess my mind needed to be 'refreshed' too..

Splinters in Her Crotch-A Tree Hugger Goes to theER

A woman from Los Angeles, who was a tree hugger, a liberal Democrat, and an anti-hunter, purchased a piece of timberland near Colville, WA.
There was a large tree on one of the highest points in the tract. She wanted a good view of the natural splendor of her land so she started to climb the big tree. As she neared the top she encountered a spotted owl that attacked her.
In her haste to escape, the woman slid down the tree to the ground and
got many splinters in her crotch. In considerable pain, she hurried to
a local ER to see a doctor. She told him she was an environmentalist, a democrat, and an anti-hunter and how she came to get all the splinters.
The doctor listened to her story with great patience and then told her
to go wait in the examining room and he would see if he could help her.
She sat and waited three hours before the doctor reappeared.
The angry woman demanded, "What took you so long?"
He smiled and then told her, "Well, I had to get permits from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management before I could remove old-growth timber from a "recreational area" so close to a waste treatment facility. I'm sorry, but due to Obama-Care they turned you down!"

Parity-Is It Good For Sports -
Salary Caps and 'Parity' -- is it ruining hockey and the rest of Pro-sports...
Example: my Detroit Red Wings--
If a Detroit team must give up excellent young players that have been strengthened by the excellent training of its farm team (as an example) because of parity salary caps (all teams must have an "equal" chance at the Stanley Cup)--is that the best for the sport or is it SOCIALISM in disguise?...
and- I am told that the other pro-sports teams have similar systems now---
My take- If teams consistently excel -because of excellent management -- they should win and keep playing--- If teams do not excel- they should disappear---
and- if DETROIT-(a house for $1.00 anyone) can support a winning team- then any city w/ true fans can support a winning team ---

If a Detroit team must give up excellent young players that have been strengthened by the excellent training of its farm team (as an example) because of parity salary caps (all teams must have an "equal" chance at the Stanley Cup)--is that the best for the sport or is it SOCIALISM in disguise?...
and- I am told that the other pro-sports teams have similar systems now---
My take- If teams consistently excel -because of excellent management -- they should win and keep playing--- If teams do not excel- they should disappear---
and- if DETROIT-(a house for $1.00 anyone) can support a winning team- then any city w/ true fans can support a winning team ---
Socialism by any name (parity-equalization et al) is ---well- you know what I think --
What do you think of parity in pro-sports?...
BTW- the DETROIT RED WINGS just won their second season game!!

Un-Born US Citizens vs/ Terrorist US Citizens -
I hear a lot about the 'poor ' US 'citizen' al Awlaki (trainer of Ft. Hood muslim murderer-trainer of 9-11 murders etc) and how he should not have been eliminated from the earth's atmosphere-

Bachmann-Cain at this point-
agree w/ Paul on many issues that line up w/ the Constitution (original intent) but- his stand that Anwar al Awlaki ( the US terrorist trainer -Ft Hood- 9-11 ) should not have been killed but -rather -tried in US court system – rendered him ‘scratched’ from my list–

Carol-CS: That’s an interesting and, in my opinion, repugnant stance on the issue. Anwar was a United States citizen. Neither President nor the Congress are empowered by the Constitution to assassinate United States citizens–not even foreign citizens! Even traitors must be tried in a court of law, regardless of the threat they pose.
It’s one thing to point a gun at the President and be shot in defense/response; it’s another thing altogether to be put on a list for extermination. Never acceptable under American law. Do you really want a precedent set for the federal government to “take out,” say, extreme right-wingers in Texas to save the expense of FBI probes and silly trials-by-jury

Kerri and Jim Caviezel-Pro Life - Jim's new show- Person 0f --
Interest- I saw it (by accident-do not watch regular TV) last night 9 PM PT- on Channel 2- Like it -will watch it again - like the fact that he ran a huge red truck into the car of a corrupt politician! Just a 'teaser' my friends !
Jim and his wife- Kerri- put their 'money where their mouths are'- are totally PRO LIFE- and have adopted 2 disabled children_
My Lutherans for Life friends and I will be joining them at an annual yearly -event - in October!

Burne Hogarth-succeeded with his talent - he worked- had a vision of a school for returning WW II Veterans-and- his books on illustrative anatomy are a good study- (AFTER we artists study medical anatomy -skeletal-muscular- and draw the human figure using live human figures as models) :the school is now named The School of Visual Arts-
